Turn Property Photos into Walkthrough Videos
Convert static property photos into smooth, cinematic walkthrough videos using the House Walkthrough template. The AI analyses your photo first to identify every detail — furniture, materials, colors, layout — then generates a faithful walkthrough that preserves the property exactly as photographed.
Quick start
- Go to Generate and select the House Walkthrough template (under Real Estate)
- The form auto-configures: Video mode, Image to Video, 12-second duration, Minimalist style
- Click the Upload tab and select your property photo
- Adjust the Text Overlay and CTA Text fields (or disable them — see below)
- Click Apply Template, then Generate
The AI will first analyse your image (~5–10 seconds), then generate the walkthrough video (~2–5 minutes).
Disabling text overlay and CTA
If you don't want text appearing over your video:
- Text Overlay — type
NoneorNo text overlayin the field - CTA Text — type
NoneorNo CTAin the field
For a completely clean walkthrough with no text at all, set both fields to None. This produces a pure cinematic walkthrough suitable for embedding on listing pages or sending directly to buyers.
How the AI preserves your property
The House Walkthrough template uses two techniques to keep the video faithful to your photo:
-
Auto-analysis — Before generating, the AI examines your image and creates a detailed inventory: "grey L-shaped sofa, white oak timber floors, floor-to-ceiling windows on the left wall, modern white kitchen island with waterfall stone benchtop..." This description is injected into the video prompt.
-
Fidelity instructions — The prompt explicitly tells the AI: "Do not alter, add, remove, or reimagine any furniture, materials, colors, textures, or architectural features — reproduce the scene exactly as photographed."
Together, these significantly reduce the AI "hallucinating" or redesigning your property.
Aspect ratio
The template preserves your source image's aspect ratio:
| Photo orientation | Video output |
|---|---|
| Landscape (16:9) | Landscape video — ideal for websites and YouTube |
| Portrait (9:16) | Portrait video — ideal for TikTok, Instagram Reels |
| Square (1:1) | Square video — works across all platforms |
Most real estate photos are landscape (wide). The video will match automatically — no need to set the aspect ratio manually.
Batch processing
Upload multiple property photos at once to create walkthrough videos for an entire listing:
- Select the House Walkthrough template
- Click the Upload tab
- Select up to 10 images at once (hold Ctrl/Cmd to multi-select)
- A preview grid shows all selected images with a count label
- Click Apply Template, then Generate
- Each image creates a separate video job with the same settings
Progress shows "Creating job 3 of 10..." as each job is submitted. All jobs appear on the Jobs page.
Batch mode skips the per-image AI analysis to keep submission fast. The prompt-level fidelity instructions still apply to each video.
Choosing a model
The House Walkthrough template works with any video model. Choose based on your needs:
| Model | Best for | Audio |
|---|---|---|
| Grok Video | Quick previews, up to 15s duration, audio included | Automatic |
| Luma Ray 2 | Final client-facing videos at 1080p or 4K | Add after generation |
| Luma Ray 2 Flash | Fast batch processing of multiple properties | Add after generation |
For a complete listing video: use Luma Ray 2 at 1080p for the best quality, then Add Audio with "professional real estate walkthrough background music" after generation.
Adding audio
Luma-generated walkthrough videos are silent by default. To add background music:
- Wait for the video job to complete
- Open the job detail page
- Scroll to Add Audio
- Enter a description like "calm real estate walkthrough background music, soft piano"
- Optionally enter what to avoid: "vocals, speech, loud beats"
- Click Add Audio — the music is generated and merged in ~1–2 minutes
For multiple videos, use bulk Add Audio on the Jobs page: select all completed Luma videos → click Add Audio → enter one description → applies to all.
Grok-generated walkthroughs already include audio automatically — no extra step needed.
Tips for best results
Photo quality matters
- Use high-resolution photos (the AI works with what you give it)
- Well-lit interiors produce better walkthroughs — natural daylight is ideal
- Wide-angle shots give the AI more scene context to work with
- Avoid photos with heavy editing or HDR — the AI may try to reproduce the processing artifacts
What works well
- Open-plan living areas with clear sightlines
- Kitchens with distinctive features (island benches, unique splashbacks)
- Bedrooms with styled furniture and good natural light
- Outdoor areas with landscaping and entertaining spaces
What to be aware of
- The AI adds camera movement to a still image — complex multi-room layouts may not flow as naturally
- Very dark rooms or heavy shadows may cause the AI to "fill in" detail
- Text overlays in the source image may be preserved or distorted
