Create a TikTok Ad from Your Brand Photos

Turn your own brand photos into a polished TikTok video ad — from image generation through to video creation. The whole process takes just a few minutes.

What you need

  • At least 1 (ideally 3) photos of your brand elements — logo, product, storefront, packaging, etc.
  • Photos taken on your phone work great

Step 1 — Write a detailed prompt

Go to Generate (tap the + button on mobile) and select Image as the asset type.

Write a prompt that describes the ad images you want. The more specific you are, the better. Include details about:

  • Composition — what's in the frame, camera angle, lighting
  • Branding — where your logo or brand name should appear
  • Mood — the feeling you want to convey (inviting, energetic, premium, etc.)
  • TikTok optimisation — bold colours, high contrast, elements that work in vertical format
Example prompt for a pizzeria brand

Create a vibrant, engaging TikTok ad image for MAIORI Pizzeria. A dynamic close-up of a freshly baked pizza on a wooden board, featuring gooey melted cheese pulling apart, vibrant tomato sauce, fresh basil leaves, and sliced pepperoni, with steam rising under warm golden-hour lighting that highlights the crispy crust and rich colours. Compose with the pizza centred in the frame using the rule of thirds, incorporating subtle MAIORI branding like a logo watermark in the corner, evoking a mouthwatering, inviting mood to spark cravings and shares. Use bold, saturated colours, high contrast, and elements like subtle motion blur to imply animation, aligning with TikTok trends for eye-catching, shareable content.

Step 2 — Choose a style preset

Under Style Preset, select a style that suits your brand. For product and food photography, Cinematic works well — it adds cinematic lighting, film grain, dramatic shadows, and shallow depth of field.

Other popular choices for ads:

StyleBest for
Product PhotographyClean product shots, e-commerce
LifestyleCandid real-world moments, relatable brands
Vibrant / PopBold, eye-catching social media content
Luxury / PremiumHigh-end brands, elegant aesthetic
ProfessionalCorporate, brand-safe content

Step 3 — Set image parameters

Configure the generation settings:

  • Model — select grok-imagine-image (or grok-imagine-image-pro for higher quality)
  • Aspect Ratio — choose 9:16 for TikTok's vertical format
  • Resolution — choose 2K for the sharpest output

Step 4 — Generate multiple variants

Set the Variants count to at least 4. This generates multiple versions of your image so you can pick the best one. You can generate up to 6 variants at a time.

Step 5 — Add your brand reference images

Scroll down to Reference Images. Tap Select Reference Image to open the media library, or tap Add URL to paste an image link.

Upload up to 3 photos of your brand elements. Each photo should show at least one recognisable brand element — your logo, product, signage, packaging, team uniform, etc.

Tips for reference photos
  • Phone photos work perfectly — no professional photography needed
  • Make sure your brand elements (logo, colours, products) are clearly visible
  • Good lighting helps the AI understand your brand better
  • The AI will blend your brand elements into the generated image

Step 6 — Generate and review

Tap Generate and wait for your variants to complete. This usually takes 15–30 seconds per image.

Once done, go to Jobs to see your generated images. If you created multiple variants, tap Compare Variants to view them side by side and pick your favourite.

Step 7 — Create a video from your best image

On the job detail page for your chosen image, tap Create Video. This opens the video generation form pre-filled with your image as the source.

  • Adjust the video prompt if needed — describe how you want the image to animate (e.g. "slow zoom into the pizza with steam rising" or "camera pans across the table")
  • Set Duration to your desired length (up to 15 seconds)
  • Tap Generate to start video creation

Video generation takes a few minutes. You'll see the progress in Jobs.

Step 8 — Download or publish

Once your video is ready, you can:

  • Download — save to your device (on mobile, use the share sheet to save to Photos)
  • Upload to Ad Library — send directly to your TikTok Ads Manager creative library
  • Post to TikTok — publish as an organic post to your TikTok profile

Tips for better results

  • Be specific in prompts — vague prompts produce generic results
  • Generate more variants — more options means a better final pick
  • Use high-quality reference photos — clear, well-lit brand photos help the AI understand your visual identity
  • Match TikTok's style — vertical (9:16), bold colours, high energy
  • Iterate — if the first batch isn't right, refine your prompt and try again
